How entries are made
This page sets out how the eighteen entries on this site were put together, what was used to write them and what was left out on purpose. It is short because the method is short. Anything it does not cover can be asked about by mail.
How the houses were chosen
Four sections were fixed first, and the houses were then chosen to fill them: fitted sleeping units, winter houses at hot springs in Japan, four Canadian resorts, and six buildings fitted out as one piece of work. Every house had to be open and had to have enough published material to describe without guessing.
What the entries are written from
Each entry rests on the hotel's own published pages, on maps and on reporting that names its source. Where a statement could not be traced to one of those, the sentence was rewritten until it could be, or dropped. Nothing here comes from a stay, a press trip or an unnamed account.
What is not on this site
There are no prices, no stars, no counts of rooms, no reviews and no booking links. Nothing is ranked and no house is set against another. Descriptions of games, of gaming floors and of the equipment in them do not appear anywhere, including the section that covers four Canadian resorts.
How the entries are looked at again
Entries are read again on a schedule and the checked date in each one moves when that happens. A correction sent by a reader is treated the same way as a scheduled review. Write through the Contact page and name the entry you mean.
